A responsible handgun owner needs to know all of important safety rules that need to be followed. One of the first things that you should do when bringing home your firearm is to childproof it. This should be done even if you do not have children.
Anyone who firsts buys a gun should be given a safety handbook that will teach them how to take care of the gun and how to safely use it. Unfortunately this doesn’t happy so we are going to provide you with the proper steps.
1. Treat all guns as if they are loaded. Always assume that a gun is loaded even if you think it is unloaded. Every time a gun is handled for any reason, check to see that it is unloaded. If you are unable to check a gun to see if it is unloaded, leave it alone and seek help from someone more knowledgeable about guns.
